MARSTON VALLEY PLANNING APPLICATION – ACTION NEEDED

REMEMBER LIDLINGTON MATTERS

Marston Vale New Villages: Planning Application consultation for Land between Brogborough, Lidlington and Marston Moretaine CB/18/01969/OUT

DO YOU HAVE CONCERNS ABOUT THIS DEVELOPMENT?

THEN MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR SAY…….

WHAT IS THIS CONSULTATION FOR?

The developers have produced some further key documents for the collection of individual new villages in Marston Vale which is around 5,000 new homes and 30 hectares of employment land.

I HAVE NOT HEARD ABOUT THIS CONSULTATION YET

This part of the process is related to the planning application being made. The Parish Council is aware that not everyone in the village has had a leaflet about this important next step. The Parish Council has asked the local authority to ensure that full information is delivered to every property in the village.

WHERE CAN I SEE THE DOCUMENTS IN FULL? The documents can be found on the Central Bedfordshire Council website at: http://cbstor.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/publicportalviewer/publicViewer.html?caseID=CB/18/01969/OUT

THERE ARE SO MANY DOCUMENTS, WHICH ONES ARE IMPORTANT? The ones to have a good look are titled:

*1a. OPA Update Covering Letter.pdf

*2b. OHB036_003_Q_Parameter Plan.pdf

*3a. OHB036-050 Rev E – Illustrative Master Plan.pdf

*4a. EIA Volume 1 – ES Addendum Report.pdf

5a Marston Valley Design and Access Statement 25.05.18.pdf and 5a. Marston Valley DAS Addendum.pdf

5b Planning Statement 25.05.18.pdf and 5b. Planning Statement Addendum.pdf

CAN I HAVE A PAPER COPY OF THE DOCUMENTS? The Parish Council have asked for paper copies of the key consultation documents. It is impractical for such large documents to be printed and made available for everyone. However, the Parish Council are looking at ways for residents to review the key documents as hard copies, and we will keep you updated on how and when they will be available.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO RESPOND? Individual consultation responses are best; you can just email comments directly to planning@centralbedfordshirecouncil.gov.uk you will get an acknowledgement of receipt. Please copy into your consultation response to: lidlingtonpc@gmail.com (Parish Council) and Sue.Clark@centralbedfordshire.gov.uk (Unitary Ward Councillor).

WHAT TYPES OF THINGS COULD I PUT IN MY RESPONSE? It is extremely important to put down all the concerns you have about any part of the proposal, such as local landscape buffers, tree planting, traffic flow on village roads, or local infrastructure such as health care and education. More information which goes into greater depth on the main areas to consider will be shared with the village.

WHEN DO I NEED TO RESPOND BY? There is a wish for the local authority to have comments by 29th June. The sooner comments are received by the local authority the more time they have to review them. This application will take some considerable time to be reviewed fully by the Central Bedfordshire Council Officers, so it is unlikely this application will be determined in the next few months. However, as detailed it is good to get key items over sooner rather than later.

WHAT IS THE PARISH COUNCIL DOING ABOUT THIS? The Parish Council are preparing a thorough and detailed response to the application, focusing on safeguarding Lidlington. A lot of work is also being done on increasing awareness of this consultation, across a range of different platforms, so residents can take part. A public drop-in session is being arranged for residents and the matter is a focus at the next Lidlington Parish Council meeting taking place on 21st June. There are a vast number of issues which the Parish Council has identified in the consultation paperwork. The Parish Council is committed to highlighting these concerns to the local authority in their response to the consultation.

If you would like to discuss any of this with the Parish Council, you are welcome to contact any Parish Councillor directly, or you can contact Lizzie, the Parish Clerk, by email: Lidlingtonpc@gmail.com or on 01234 771702
